Hi Limo,
It's generally considered bad form to copy an article in its entirety (not to mention a copyright violation), but a paragraph or two is fine with a link back to the source. Hope that helps.

Cheers!

Hi Stephen,
Was your grandmother named Resilda? I found a widowed "Risilda" in Cedar Rapids in 1880, with a 9 year old son named "George." Several other children listed on the 1880 US Census, including a son John, who was a 24-year-old attorney. There WAS a George Sr. in an 1870 Linn County, Iowa, census.

Good luck!

My grandfather, Geo Edward Leonard was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa area in 1871. Later settled in Kansas City. I have photo of homestead in Cedar Rapids. His father with the same three names was born in New Jersey. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Steve
