Who ARE You?
Sep 30th, 2009 | By Leonard Legends & Legacies | Category: Featured Articles
Know how to tell when a blogger’s running out of things to discuss? He/she starts rambling about his/her visitor logs.
That’s right, ladies and germs, I can SEE where you’re coming from, how often, and what you’re doing while you’re here. BTW, you might wanna close those blinds behind you….
Most days, the logs are pretty boring, but occasionally, things start showing up that make me scratch my head and go “Whuh?” See, the logs tell me pretty much everything about you, except your NAME. So, who ARE you, anyway? I don’t mean the regulars from Pennsylvania, Ohio, Missouri, Michigan and such… I KNOW who you guys are.
But I’m dying to know who’s visiting from Johannesburg, South Africa and why? C’mon don’t be shy… I know you were here for seven and a half minutes on Monday, you run Firefox on a Mac (interesting combination), and your resolution is 1280 x 1024. I know which pages you visited and what you searched for. What I don’t know is your name. C’mon… cough it up!
Or you, over there in the corner, in Auckland, New Zealand. You were here for six and a half HOURS on Monday! You must’ve found SOMETHING interesting? Either that, or you fell asleep at the keyboard reading this drivel.
Or how ’bout the guy/gal from Bhubaneswar, India? You got here by searching for “Legends Blog.” Were you really looking for ME, or is that a banana in your pocket?
And you, over there in Manchester, England… did you find the John Leonard you were looking for? Probably an Iron Leonard, doncha know. But if you find a Solomon connection, please let me know!
Among domestic visitors, somebody in Birmingham, Alabama gets the award for “Whut the Hell were you trying to accomplish for seventeen hours and 56 minutes yesterday?” If you just ask, I could probably email you a report.
Among the other newcomers, at least the ones I noticed this week… Mesa, Tuscon, and Scottsdale, Arizona; Morgantown, Hope Mills, and Raleigh, North Carolina; Buffalo, New York (34 visits a week ago Saturday?).
I could go on, but I’ve already lost you and bored myself so if you’re still here… TELL ME WHO YOU ARE!

LOL! Watch out, cousin Rick Leonard is watching you
I am interested to see if any of these folks are actual descendants…
Is any body responding? I’d like to meet more descendants……….. On another note Eunice Marie (Leonard) Bartlett has passed away. She was the daughter if Cecil Dewey & Ruth (Culver) Leonard age 87. Another Michiagn Leonard.
No responses so far. Maybe someday.

OK Rick. It’s me, the footnoteMaven. Chased you here from my blog log. Should show up as Issaquah, WA. I’m using Firefox on a Mac (I don’t find this strange). My display is 1680 X 1050.
Under my feet are two very sick dogs. I have my nursing cap on. The blinds are closed so my neighbors don’t know how many hours I sit in front of my computer.
Sorry I’m not as captivating as New Zealand or India.
This is all confidential, right?

Only if you want it to be? LOL
Well, hello Ms. Maven! (May I call you foot?) Hey, you and I are neighbors! I’m just down the road in Kenmore, which I like to consider a suburb of Bothell. Which year did you graduate from the UW GFH program? I graduated in 2001. We should do lunch. I’ll have my people call your people.
I graduated in 2005. Right now I sit on the Advisory Board. Did you have Lorraine?
You ARE just down the road! We must promote all PNW bloggers. Voting for you in the FTM Top 40.
Yes, let’s do lunch. I’ll wait for your people to call.

I dont really know where to ask you this on your site, so ill ask here, I am the grandson of Oval Earl Leonard who was the son of Cecil Dewey Leonard, who was the son of Hirum Ezekiel Leonard ,and from there it goes back to the Mayflower. Are you and I somehow related? Either way i would have an interest in talking with you. Thanks for your time. Oh, my name is Travis Earl Leonard, son of George Michael Leonard.
YEs I am? We would be third cousins. My grandfather was was Orlin Merl Leonard, brother to Cecil Dewey. Do you still live in Coe????? I was up there last weekend. I also have all the Mayflower information on our line. e-mail me at harlessanna@aim.com
Brand-new here so cannot be one of those to whom Rick referred but Solomon and Sarah (Chandler) LEONARD were my 8th-great-grandparents. I’m in Southern California.
Current dilemma is trying to sort out Solomon’s father Samuel. Anyone have verified info on him? A direction in which to point me?
Thanks for a great site, Rick.
I’m an english Leonard trying to track William and Henry Leonard from this side of the water. My family lived in Aston in Warwickshire for about 250 years and are connected very closely to the gunmakers and iron workers over here.
Im currently looking at spanish and french Leonards (or similar) in the 16th century in europe hoping to find them living near known centres of ironworking . . . wish me luck on that!
