This page is generated automatically as I add to or change the information in the Leonard Family Legends & Legacies database.
Sometimes these updates are important, like the addition of some long-lost ancient ancestor, and
sometimes they're not... like the correction of a typo on a page. So, to put a little humanity
back in the process, I will stop by from time to time and add my thoughts on what I've
been doing and what I think are the important changes.
Make sense? I thought so.
So, the most exciting news of the summer, was the discovery of a cache of old photos in a backyard shed in South Florida.
Well, technically, the discovery happened a few years ago, but the discoverer (is too a word) just discovered us and decided to share. Thanks, Sean!
And, for the Summer of 2008, I've pledged to pay more attention to the site and try to write at least one blog post permonth.
The first, was entitled "Do you recognize this man?", about identifying old photographs.
And because my Web software likes to keep track of the particulars, here are some specifics for the past 30 days. Check the "Last Modified" column on the right for the exact date.

 | Leonard family homestead, on Pigeon Creek, near Ellsworth, PA. Location of Caleb Leonard, Jr.'s homestead is described, in various documents as "northwest of Brownsville," "near Bentleysville," and "on the Ellsworth Coal Company property." The family home was described as "a two-story log cabin" that apparently stood near Pigeon Creek until a fire destroyed it 1996.
This is a picture of the two-story cabin that stood on the Ellsworth Coal Company property described by Jennie Leonard Hutchinson in letters to another Leonard researcher. |
