    • Joseph may have married first, Polly Henderson, born 11 Sept 11, 1769 in Bedford, Virginia; marriage about 1787, place not known at this time. Second marriage to Mary LEONARD; probably about 1803 (see Shaun CARSON notes)
      There is a Joseph L. CARSON on the 1820 Franklin County, IN census, Springfield Twp;
      Joseph CARSON, Sr. on 1840 Rush County, IN census
      Joseph (Linn) CARSON appears on the 1850 Hamilton County, Crosby Twp. OH census, listed with many other people (probably the Quaker Society) age 78, born in VA

      Joseph CARSON does not appear on the 1860 census.

      Russell Wilhoit of the Decatur County Historical Preservation Society has all the cemetery books. In Kingston Cemetery, Fugit Twp about 10 miles out of town are buried: Mary E. CARSON born 1837, died January 15, 1878. Next to her is a James M. CARSON, born May 25, 1841 and died July 17, 1864. These are probably relatives/children of Mary CARSON and Joseph CARSON. No gravesite found for Mary CARSON born about 1784 in Pennsylvania, probably died about 1875.
