    • Her death notice was published on January 19, 1824:
      Deaths
      On Wednesday the 31st Dec inst at about 3 o'clock P.M. of a bilious fever, Mrs. Mary Mitchell, aged 37 years, wife of Mr. John Mitchell of Bentleyville after about two weeks of confinement.

      Also of the same disease, on the same day and hour, Mrs. Hannah Mitchell, aged 35, after a sickness of three weeks, the wife of Col. David Mitchell, Bentleyville.

      Both of the deceased were sisters, and lived not a few steps apart, for a number of years. Their remains were interred in one grave, on the 1st instant.

      Nannie Luker's 1923 letter says that both sisters died of typhoid fever.
